BAREFOOT WINE – SOCIAL GOOD

Barefoot Wine and Surfrider Foundation Unite for Social Good

The Media

Each year over 25,000 U.S. beaches are closed or designated as unhealthy, and that’s why Barefoot Wine and Surfrider Foundation initiated the Barefoot Beach Rescue Project, where community volunteers help keep our waters “barefoot friendly” while enjoying beach eats, bubbly, and live music.

The Music

For the cleanup at Lady Bird Lake in Austin, we booked hometown hero Suzanna Choffel who’s got “all the vibe in the world” (Rolling Stone) to recruit fans, do press, and appear on a 15-site Barefoot Wine-sponsored tour, following in the footsteps of artists such as Joss Stone, Gavin DeGraw, and Cold War Kids.

The Message

Today over 14,000 volunteers have collected 20 tons of trash at 140+ cleanups, and Barefoot celebrated the 10th anniversary by going global with #WorldBeachRescueDay, donating $1 to Surfrider Foundation for every tagged social post (up to $100,000).
